The Johnson County Economic Development Corporation (JCEDC) will lead economic development initiatives, facilitate community alignment, and assist groups and individuals in their pursuit of local development opportunities to increase the county’s economic prosperity.

Johnson County, Missouri will be a place of prosperity where individuals, families, and businesses can develop and thrive as a result of a shared community vision, strong local leadership, and community-led efforts and partnerships.

The Johnson County Economic Development Corporation (JCEDC) will lead economic development initiatives, facilitate community alignment, and assist groups and individuals in their pursuit of local development opportunities to increase the county’s economic prosperity.

JCEDC, the only county-wide economic development organization, positively affects business development, placemaking, entrepreneurship, talent development, and regionalism and in doing so promotes the economic health of Johnson County, Central Missouri region, and the state of Missouri.

Since 1995, the public-private non-profit corporation of JCEDC has cultivated a thriving, diverse economic development ecosystem, within Johnson County and the region.  Led by an active, forward thinking Board of Directors, JCEDC dedicates its resources to accelerating new and existing development projects that will align current and future needs with assets available. JCEDC engages the partnership network with strong and collaborative connections by: ensuring community vision alignment, maintaining focus on unique opportunities, marketing regionally, and providing fact-based data and resources for businesses and communities.

The JCEDC partnership network includes:

Currently, JCEDC’s goals are to:
1. Support Johnson County’s existing economic base in growth and expansion while targeting attraction efforts to drive economic diversification in the county through business development efforts.
2.  Foster placemaking efforts aimed at creating an inviting community that supports greater population in-migration and retention.
3.  Cultivate entrepreneurship and innovation by supporting and developing the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
4. Focus on supporting talent pipeline development by aligning talent retention,
recruitment, and development initiatives in Johnson County.
5.  Encourage regional thinking and focus through alignment and partnership building.
