(Warrensburg, MO) Johnson County Economic Development Corporation (JCEDC) is proud to assist the growth of Strive Fitness and Wellness through the JCEDC Microloan Program. Since 2006, this program has allowed JCEDC to assist many local small businesses, such as Strive, to grow and thrive. Formerly known as Strive, Women’s Fitness, the company is re-branding to Strive Fitness and Wellness with a renewed focus on overall fitness goals for people of all ages, strengths, and fitness abilities. Strive offers fitness classes, a 30-minute low-impact circuit, the latest cardio equipment, and free weights all conveniently located in Warrensburg’s Hawthorne Plaza.
Karen Fisk, Jessica Grant, Katrina Shanks and Leslie Walling, co-owners, are excited about what the Microloan means for their company moving forward. “We are thrilled to be able to offer even more to all members of the community with 24-hour access, shower facilities, new equipment, personal training, Silver Sneakers classes, running club storefronts, and additional wellness initiatives,” co-owner Leslie Walling stated.
“Strive Fitness and Wellness would like to extend a huge thank you to JCEDC and the Microloan Committee for this opportunity as Strive continues to grow and expand,” co-owner Karen Fisk stated.

The JCEDC Microloan program offers loans up to $10,000 and allows small business owners to finance start up or established businesses, including both home-based and store-front. As borrowers repay their loans, these “revolving funds” are used to make more loans to other businesses to create more jobs and investment opportunities. To date, JCEDC has loaned over $125,000 to Johnson County business owners. More information about the JCEDC Microloan program can be found HERE or by calling 660-747-0244.
