In 2017, Dollar Tree Distribution Center announced it would invest approximately $110 million to build a 1.2 million square foot distribution facility in Warrensburg, Missouri. The new facility is located in Brady Commerce Park and opened July 2018.

In 2018, C K Enterprises selected western Johnson County to relocate and expand the company’s only production facility in the United States. C K Enterprises, operating since 1981, manufactures and supplies over 700 chemical products for the car care industry as well as products for manufacturing, transportation, and food processing industries.

JANESVILLE ACOUSTICS
In 2014, Janesville Acoustics, a Jason Incorporated Company, announced they would invest $13.4 million in a new 155,000 square-foot automotive manufacturing facility in Warrensburg to supply GM’s Fairfax Assembly Plant, creating 164 new, fulltime jobs. In 2017, Janesville Acoustics was the 10th largest employer in Johnson County, employing 243 people.

Janesville Acoustics is one of the world’s largest producers of acoustical and thermal fiber insultation for a variety of automotive applications. Founded in 1874, the company is based in Southfield, Michigan with manufacturing plants and satellite offices in Michigan, Ohio, Mississippi, North Carolina, Missouri and Mexico.

ENERSYS ENERGY PRODUCTS EXPANSION
In 2008, EnerSys Energy Products - the world's largest manufacturer, marketer, and distributor of industrial batteries - announced they would expand their Warrensburg location, following global competition for the project. The project expanded the then 350,000 sq ft facility to 500,000 sq ft, resulting in a 50% increase in manufacturing capacity. EnerSys Energy Products is located in the Warrensburg Industrial Center Park. In 2017, EnerSys Energy Products was the 4th largest employer in Johnson County, employing 636 people.

JOHNSON COUNTY ENHANCED ENTERPRISE ZONE
The Enhanced Enterprise Zone (EEZ) is an important component of Johnson County's incentive program for encouraging job creation, retention, and investment. The purpose of the EEZ is to provide real property tax abatement for qualifying businesses located within the zone. The zone, spanning 175 square miles in Johnson County was created in 2016 and is in effect until 2041. As of early 2020, the Johnson County EEZ successes include the following:
